Project Overview: Aquatic Complex Project
First opened in 1953, the SRVHS pool serves not only the SRVHS water polo and swim teams, but is also home to the Town of Danville swim lesson program and the Danville Sea Devil recreational swim team. The facility is also heavily used by the 680 Drivers Club Water Polo Team.
Since the pool was built, district standards for high school pools have evolved. Our current pool has only one deep end making it unsuitable for water polo games, and room for just eight lanes, making it undesirable for swim meets. The new district standard pool includes two deep ends of 7’ suitable for water polo and diving, and up to 10 lanes for swim meets including warm-up/warm-down lanes.
This list of improvements to the aquatic facilities includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Aquatic Facilities:
- Replacement of the existing aged pool facility with a district standard aquatic facility.
- Additional pool facility upgrades including Integrated Timing System, Electronic Scoreboard and Bleacher System.
**Based on the approval of future bond and parcel tax measures which may include funds earmarked for certain facility improvements on the SRVHS campus, some of the projects listed may not require the full financial underwriting by the Foundation but may include some level of contribution to upgrade certain basic facility standards.
